About the author (2012)

Saul David is a bestselling novelist, television presenter, and one of the leading military historians today. His major history of the British soldier is due in February 2012. He has just finished filming a three-part series for BBC4 on the history of military logistics called "Bullets, Boots and Bandages: How Wars are Really Won". He has also written on the Indian Mutiny, the Charge of the Light Brigade, and Victoria s Wars. He teaches at Buckingham University.
