About the author (1990)

Alex Trebek was a Canadian American game show host and television personality. George Alexander Trebek was born July 22, 1940 in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. He was a graduate of the University of Ottawa with a degree in philosophy (1961). He pursued a career in broadcasting. In 1973, he moved to the United States and became a naturalized citizen in 1998. He hosted numerous game shows. But he is best known for hosting the popular television game show Jeopardy!, 1984-2020. He wrote a memoir entitled, The Answer is¿.: Reflections on My Life, published in July 2020. Alex Trebek died on November 8, 2020 from pancreatic cancer. He was 80.
