    The 12th SS

    User Review  - weberda - Overstock.com

I ordered this book for my dad. He enjoyed the first volume so much he wanted to read the second. He said he has learned much from this book and it helps to tie in some of the other books he has read on World War II. Read full review

This together with volume 2 is indeed the defining work on 12th SS Division. Volume 1 covers the period up to 6th August 1944 ie just after GOODWOOD. Volume 2 is from then on, starting with the TOTALIZE operations. You can follow the action down to Battalion and Kompanie level and if, like me, you want to walk the ground ( or use google earth!)they are invaluable. Kurt Meyer's book 'Grenadiers' is the only other book you need.
