About the author (1989)

Frank Brenchley is a British diplomat specializing in the Middle East from World War II until the 1980s. He was Assistant Under-Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs at the Foreign Office (1967-8) and later Deputy Under-Secretary of State in the Cabinet Office.
