Although the subject matter is a difficult one to swallow as a child born into a generation which has not suffered much, it is necessary. The author gives his raw account of a most difficult time and place to be alive in. These events need to be told and retold because its horrors are very real. Knowledge of our past properly empowers us to protect our future.

A difficult book to read. The Jewish doctor was personally acquainted with Dr. Mengele. He gives you a first-hand account of the Nazi killing machine. As you read the book, you root for the doctor and his family to survive. It's amazing that this evil took place not so long ago. Read full review
