Very interesting subject. Though it doesn't mention software, I'd highly recommend the book to anyone who uses Excel or Powerpoint in their daily lives -- charts and graphics can be powerful tools for presenting information, but can also conceal and confuse it. Tufte is quite an expert on these visual tools, and makes his case with fascinating stories. My only criticism would be a lack of organization to the book. Themes of some chapters don't make much sense ("confections"?) and seem to be just excuses for adding more stories. Great read anyway, though.

I found I didn't really get this book until I saw Tufte speak in person. If you get an opportunity to take his class, do it! It's fantastic! Read full review

Overall this book is filled with the ideas of a very opinionated man, who might have some issue with people that may just be a bit more creative than him. Putting my personal feelings aside, there was ... Read full review
