Review: Charles I: The Personal Monarch

I needed a quick crash course on Charles. This was a well-written and clear biography. Carlton's penchant for attempting to psychoanalyze Charles (not surprising for the time in which it was written) gets a little heavy-handed at times, but overall it was an enjoyable read. Read full review

A rather academic history of Charles I, not a 'pop History' book by any means, but it's got some interesting insights. I must finish it one day. Read full review
