About the author (2010)

COLLETTE LYONS’S WRITING CAREER has so far proved a rather wonderful excuse to disappear around the world for years at a time. The London-born, Cambridge-educated writer has been putting pen to paper for magazines and newspapers including The Guardian, The Independent and The Sunday Times in the United Kingdom, as well as Arabian titles such as The National, Time Out Dubai and OK! Middle East for almost 15 years. Most recently, three years in Dubai dining, drinking and dropping far too much money in the city’s malls have left her well qualified to provide an exhaustive guide to the city’s best.
