Second best book I have ever read. As someone who just applied for OCS, it was great insight to what I am getting myself into. It doesn't cake it like a recruiter will. Lt. Fick tells you how it is, even the bad parts. I have and will continue to recommend it to everyone I encounter. Read this book if you are interested in seeing more about the Military today and how its not what you think.

Astonishing story of one man's journey to become a special forces officer, some of his life and death experiences being on the tipity tip of the spear in the 2003 invasion of Iraq (documented in Generation Kill), and the after life in the civilian world. Riveting read. Read full review
