Julia started writing children's short stories several years ago. When she retired, she decided to turn her writing into a hobby to entertain young readers. Later she entered two of her children's short stories into competitions and was delighted with comments by the adjudicators. Therefore decided to try to get them published. After many hours of research and disappointments, she was delighted when Author House, having received her manuscript, liked the story and offered her the opportunity to put her voice to print. This encouraged her to write a sequel to this story, which she is working on at this moment in time. The story is both Educational and amusing with a little heartbreak. Highlighting the cultural differences between those who have materialistic things in life and take them for granted and those who have not, but seem to be happy living the simple life.
