i have seen this play 3 times. The first time was in Portland, Ore back in the 90's .. its a rollercoaster ride. You laugh and you cry. The play in Portland was packed with older adults that I had thought missed out on there opera show and decided to go to the play.. but I was wrong.. It was a great feeling knowing that som many people of all walks of life wanted to see this play. The cast at the time consisted of three people.. two guys and the mother from Houston. .
I've seen it twice in SF.. but have yet to see it again do to no one is doing the play that I could find. I had searched the net, every year.. and nothing.. Now I found it.. and come to find out it was playing in Richmond, VA.. last year.. ( only if I knew ) now my search on.. I have to see it again.. All major cities should be doing this play in Dec. East Coast or West or halfway in the middle.. I will go to see it. Yes.. its that good.. and funny..
Its about how one man, ( Paul ) has his bf in the back bedroom dying of aids, and he wants to see Paul happy with some one else before he passes away.. then Paul's mother comes to town from Houston, to convince him he is only going through a stage of being gay.. and he will get over it and get married to a girl .. as soon as he gets out of Hollywood.. .. more to be said.. but you just have to see the play.
