Friday is a secret courier, engineered from the finest genes and employed by a man known to her only as "Boss." Operating from and over a near-future Earth, where chaotic ferocity is the unhappy norm, she finds herself on assignments at Boss's seemingly whimsical behest. From New Zealand to Canada, from one to another of the new states of America's disunion, she finds ways to achieve her mission as she falls from one calamity and scrape to another. But when the Boss finally dies, she finds that the stakes in the game have escalated.
