About the author (2019)

Corrinne Averiss is renowned for her poignant heart-warming picture books for young children. Her books have been sold around the world and translated into over 20 languages. My Pet Star is her tender story about love and loss and won Sainsbury's Children's Book of the Year in 2019. LOVE (illus. Beautyman/Quarto) has found worldwide success as a celebration of family love and remedy for separation anxiety. Corrinne has published titles with Andersen Press, Farshore, OUP, Quarto, Stripes and Hachette. She has also worked in children's television for over 20 years as a writer and producer/director. She created Tweedy & Fluff, the beautiful stop-motion series on Milkshake! Channel 5 and Share a Story for CiTV, which has been awarded no less than 4 Children's BAFTAs. Corrinne grew up in the Midlands, studied English Literature at the University of St Andrews and settled somewhere between the two - in a little town between Manchester and the Peak District with her husband, daughter and Alba the tabby cat.

Rosalind Beardshaw has illustrated many books for children. These include the award-winning Lulu series and the National Trust's A Walk in the Countryside series. She lives in York with her family.
