Discovered by late Earl of Carnarvon and Howard Carter, with 104 illustrations from photographs by Harry Burton of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. For the first time, a royal burial was discovered that had not been overly disturbed. Due to the public interest in the subject, this is a preliminary narrative of discovering Tutankhamen's tomb.

About the author (2003)

Howard Carter (1874-1939), artist and archaeologist, was attached to various epigraphic expeditions of the Egypt Exploration Fund, later joining the Egyptian Antiquities Service as Chief Inspector of Upper Egypt and finally working as excavator for Lord Carnarvon.
