Nanuka and Bede - What's for Dinner

Front Cover
Bede Key, May 11, 2021 - Juvenile Fiction - 32 pages

A charming children's picture book with recipes to read as an activity book in the kitchen or a story book at bed time

The recipes are all regular favourites of Nanuka and Bede and are quite typical of those prepared in Bhutanese households day in day out.

The portioning is for two hungry adults and the chilli heat is for the somewhat brave, but enjoyable for the initiated.

The story is framed to create an ambience for the younger audience with the ironic harmony in the kitchen slightly elaborated and all tantrums edited out.

About the author (2021)

I have spent much of the last 4 years teaching young children English as a foreign language online, reading short stories, and singing nursery rhymes. This is far removed from my prior profession when I worked in 5 countries in IT and communications, later publishing a series of language learning apps. I was involved in storytelling, producing thematic documentary movies for an NGO and writing technical articles for periodical reports. Just prior to my 40th birthday I decided to document my life and quickly wrote my first 20,000 words… that’s pretty much where it has stayed since 2004. I decided to turn author-illustrator and can’t put down my pen. My picture books are autobiographically based, with some elaboration and written wondering how I made some of the decisions that give these stories a quirky appeal.
