Maharaja Ranjit Singh life illustrates extra ordinary leadership qualities,military power and political skill ensured his success a leader in changing circumstances.To illustrated his leader ship and character quality One of his distinguished general sardar Gurmukh singh Lamba who was a recipient of highest military award IZAZZI-i- SARDARI and civil awards of Nirmal Bud and Ujjal Diddar Who defeated the father Main Kishro Singh of Dogra Rajas Gulab Singh and Dhain Singh having influence over the maharaja cut down the power and wealth of the sardar who was having the Jairs of Rupees3.5 lac annual.On the death bed the maharaja realised his mistake ,felt sorry of his action and ordered his son to restore the honour and wealth of the sardar who was always faith ful to Sarkar Khalsa.
2 Above act shows reconciliation, acceptance and his consideration to wards his men,a remarkable character quality.A maharaja who was so concerned even at death bed.
3.This incident given in caption at Serial D-40 of sketch portrait painting of Sardar General Gurmukh singh Lamba at Central Museum of Lahore for subsequent editions.
