And being asked about the Words; [" Published by "Command?"]

After which, Mr. Fuller was called in:

And being, by Order of the House, asked, “Whether Thomas Jones were in Being; and if he could produce him?"

And being asked, “By whofe Command?"

Said, "By Mr. Jones's and the rest of the Wit"neffes: and that Jones told him, the laft Seffion, "If "he did not publish the Books, he would quit the Ser"vice he was doing the Public; and that, if he printed any Thing against any Person, the Law was open; if "against the Government; Mr. Attorney might pro "fecute."

Being asked, "Who thofe Lords and Commons were; "that were acquainted with Jones, and the Merits of "his Caufe?"

Said, "That Paragraph was none of his; and that "he writ Part of the Preface; but knew not who writ "the other Part."

Being alfo asked, "If he could name any One that "knew Jones?"

Said, "One Ingram, a Friend of his, was gone to "look after him; and one Earl, of Hampshire, knew "him; and that Jones lived near Redbridge, in Hampfhire; and was a Man of a Thousand Pounds a Year: "That, if he did not produce him in Five Days, he "would fuffer all the Severities the House could lay on

"him."

And being asked, "Who printed the Book?"

Said, "One Buck, near Temple Barr; and that he gave him the Copy, and never had it back from him; "and did not know who put in the laft Paragraph; "for that he did not."

Then he withdrew; and the Orders following were made:

"ORDERED, That no Perfon fpeak with Mr. Fuller, "until the Rifing of the Houfe."

"ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal "in Parliament affembled, That Mr. W'm Fuller do, on "Wednesday next, at Eleven a Clock, produce before "this House Mr. Thomas Jones, mentioned in his Peti"tion; and that Mr. Thomas Jones fhall have the Pro"tection of this Houfe."

The Houfe being informed, "That Mr. Buck, a Buck exami Printer, had fent the original Papers:"

And Mr. Buck, attending was called in, and fhewn the Papers; who faid, "He had thofe Papers from Mr.

And being asked, "If Mr. Fuller told him, he had any Order to print those Books?"

Said, "Mr. Fuller told him, "He was commanded by the Secretaries of State to print it; and faid, the King was angry that it was not printed."

And being asked, "If Mr. Fuller found any Fault with the Print?"

Said, "He did not find any Fault with any Thing printed;" and delivered Mr. Fuller's Letter.

And, upon comparing the Copy with the printed Book, it appeared, that the Claufe which Fuller said was not his Writing, was all writ with his own Handwriting, without any Interlineation.

Mr. Fuller, attending at the Door, was called in; and
asked, "What Englefield's Christian Name is ?"
Who faid, "It is Jobu."

Who faid, "Mr. Fuller came to him, and defired to speak with Mr. Secretary Hedges; and that he told "him, if he would speak with him, he must go to him "at Richmond."

And being asked, "If Mr. Fuller offered to bring "Mr. Jones?"

Said, "Fuller had a Warrant to fend for Jones, who, " he said, lived at Redbridge; and that Five Meffengers "went, but could not find Mr. Jones; and another "Meffenger was fent, to fetch up Fuller and the Meffen"gers: And believed, that Fuller has faid, "Mr. Jones was ready to attend."

And being asked, "What Minister of State he Domini tam Spirituales quam Temporales præfentes "fhewed his Depofitions to?"

He faid, "Mr. Jones went to the Secretary's Office, "and could not get Admittance; and that he carried "the Depofitions to the Secretary's Office before he "published them; but the Secretary never faw them: "And acquainted Mr. Ellis, that Jones was ready to "make his Depofitions."

And being asked, "If Delaval and Hayes were feen "by any Member of Parliament ?"

Said, "He could not name them; but would look in "his Papers."

Then he withdrew.

ORDERED, That Mr. Ellis attend this Houfe, prefently.

Then, it being propofed, "That Mr. Fuller be called
"in, and told, That he should fend to this House, To-
"morrow, a Lift of those Perfons he fays in his Book
"faw Delaval and Hayes in the Lobby of the House of
"Commons:"
