Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Charles Lord D. Hamilton. Mohun, Executor of the laft Will and Teftament of the Right Honourable Charles Earl of Maclesfeld, deceased, who was Executor of the laft Will and Teftament of the Right Honourable Elizabeth Lady Gerrard, deceased, who was Widow of Digby Lord Gerrard, deceased, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Seven and Twentieth Day of January One Thoufand Seven Hundred and Two, and the fubfequent Orders thereupon, in a Caufe wherein James Duke of Hamilton, and Elizabeth Dutchefs of Hamilton his Wife, Daughter and Heir of the faid Digby Lord Gerrard by the faid Elizabeth Lady Gerrard were Plaintiffs, and the now Appellant Defendant; and praying, "That the faid Decree, and all fubfequent Orders and Proceedings, may be "reverfed; and that the Service of the Refpondents "Clerk in Chancery may be a good Service, in order "to answer the faid Appeal:"

Decree made in the Court of Chancery, in Michaelmas Term One Thousand Seven Hundred and Two, in a Caufe there depending, wherein the Petitioners were Plaintiffs, and Thomas Turft and others were Defendants; and praying the Reverfal of the faid Decree, as to all but to the Eight Hundred Livres and Intereft therein mentioned :

The Earl of Peterborow reported from the Lords Committees, an humble Addrefs, to be prefented to Her Majefty from this Houfe, upon Her Majefty's moft Gracious Speech, and the Debate of the House.

Which was read, as followeth; (videlicet,)

"We, Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal Subjects, Address. "the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament af"fembled, do offer up our hearty Acknowledgements to "ALMIGHTY GOD, for the Prefervation of Your Royal "Perfon, fo effential to the Happinefs of Your People, "and the Safety of Europe.

"The happy Declaration of the Duke of Savoy, for "the common Intereft, gives Your Majefty a seasonable "Opportunity to fhew Your Compaffion and Concern "for thofe Proteftants in the South of France, who lie "under the heaviest Perfecution and Oppreffion.

"We lament, for ourselves and others, the unavoid"able Expences of War; but have Reafon to thank "GOD, and Your Majefty, that we are free from all "the other Calamities of it, having almost nothing else "to wifh for (being fecured of a Proteftant Succeffion) "but Your long and happy Reign over us: And we shall "moft willingly pay our Proportion of Taxes, encouraged by Your Royal Generofity for the Ease of Your People, and by the frugal Management of what is given; being fenfible there is no better Way to fave "the Wealth of the Nation, than by carrying on the "War at this Time with the utmost Vigour.
