Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Sir Thomas Lawrence Baronet, and John Lawrence Efquire his Son, from an Order or Decree of the Court of Chancery, made the Six and Twentieth Day of February laft, in a Cause there depending, wherein the Petitioners were Plaintiffs, and Robert Blachford, Daniel Blackford, Elizabeth Blackford, Jane Blackford, George Blackford, John Blachford, John Leigh, Thomas Urrey, William Taylor and Grace his Wife, Edmond Challoner, and Arthur Lake, were Defendants; and praying, "That that Part of the faid Order or Decree, which "appoints One Thousand Five Hundred Pounds and "Interest to be paid out of the Two Thousand "Pounds and Intereft in the Petition mentioned, may "be fo far reversed:"

"Petyt Efquire to fupervife the digefting, placing, and putting in Order, the Records lying in Cefar's Cha"pel, and other Records in his Cuftody, with feveral "Inftructions contained in that Warrant, and a Power to take in Three Clerks for that Service, at £. 150. per Annum, from Michaelmas 1704 (over and above "a Chief Clerk, which, by the Report of the faid Re"ferees, was further recommended to be appointed by

"I do alfo lay before your Lordships a Certificate "from Sir Christopher Wren (dated the 9th Instant, "N° 7.) of what has been done, relating to the pro"viding Preffes, Shelves, and Drawers, for receiving "the Records in Cefar's Chapel, and to the demo"lishing the Room lately on Fire near the Place where "thofe Records are intended to be placed.

"And a Report from Mr. Petyt (dated the fame "Day, N° 8.) intimating, "That, pursuant to my War"rant, he did immediately appoint Clerks fufficiently "capacitated, who have been ever fince fully employed, "under his Infpection, in cleaning, forting, and di"gesting those Records, in order to be preferved in the "Method prescribed."

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament affembled, That the Report and other Papers laid this Day before the House by the Lord High Treasurer of England, relating to the keeping of Records in Offices, fhall be, and they are hereby, re-. ferred to the Lords Committees appointed to inspect the Method of keeping Records in Offices.

Lords Committees appointed to confider of the Methods of keeping Records in Offices, and how they are kept, and to confider of Ways to remedy what shall be found to be amifs; whofe Lordships, having confidered thereof, fent for fuch Officers, and heard fuch Persons thereupon, as they fhall think fit, are afterwards to report their Opinion thereupon to the House; and the faid Committee have hereby Power to appoint a Sub-committee, to confider thereof, and infpect fuch Offices and Records as they fhall think fit; and report to the Grand Committee; (videlicet,)
