XIV. At general meetings of the society, the committee may recommend persons eminent for their literary, or scientific acquirements, to be balloted for as honorary, or corresponding members. XV. When any office shall become vacant, or any appointment shall be requisite, the committee shall have power to fill up the same; such appointments shall remain in force only to the next general meeting, when they shall be either confirmed or annulled. XVI. The treasurer shall receive all subscriptions and donations made to the society, and shall pay all accounts passed by the committee: he shall keep a book of receipts and payments, which he shall produce whenever the committee shall require it: the accounts shall be audited previously to the anniversary meeting, by two members of the committee chosen for that purpose, and an abstract of them shall be read at the meeting. XVII. No change shall be made in the laws of the society, except at a general, or special meeting, at which twelve members, at least, shall be present. Of the proposed change a month's notice shall be given to the secretaries; who shall communicate the same to each member three weeks before the meeting. XVIII. Papers read at meetings of the society, and considered by the committee of sufficient interest for publication, will be printed, (with the author's consent) in such manner as shall be determined by the committee to be the best for the purpose, for gratuitous distribution, or otherwise, to the members of the society; and for such price to the public as may be agreed upon. b XIX. No religious or political discussions shall be permitted at meetings of the society; nor any topics of a similar nature admitted into the society's publications. XX. That any person contributing books, or specimens, to the Museum, shall be at liberty to resume possession of them, in the event of the property of the society ever being sold, or transferred, otherwise than to any similar society in the county.
