The Council of the Regional State of Oromiya has established the Planning and Economic Development Bureau and asked them to collect and compile development information on various aspects of the Region. The Bureau in collaboration with its twelve Zonal Planning and Economic Development Offices has prepared this comprehensive document to create a data base that will enable the preparation of local development plans and the establishment of a geographic information system.
