Dead for Nothing?: What the Cross Has Done for YouDr. Phil Pringle, senior pastor of Christian City Church, one of Australias fastest growing churches, brings readers back to the cross in his eye-opening book, Dead for Nothing. To get back to the cross is to get back to a life - a fantastic life, based on the death and resurrection of Jesus rather than the efforts of man. Dr. Pringle gives seven benefits of Jesus death and shows readers how to apply them. |

Horrible book from a guy who teaches nothing but the prosperity gospel here is a quote from it.
Jesus became poor regarding the wealth of this world on the cross, that those who receive Him may become rich with the wealth of this world.
At first I was hoping he was talking about something else, but I quickly realized this is exactly what he meant. Unfortunately he is leading many people astray. Do a search on him and you will find he is covered with controversies.
Read it if you want, but don't say you weren't warned. He is teaching people to lust after the things of this world, which the Bible specifically says those who live the world and the things of this world do not have the love of the Father in them. (Paraphrase from 1 John 2:15). A Christian does not have to be poor, but we are not to be in love with the things of this world. Also, this is not the reason Jesus died poor. Beyond all of this, what about all the martyrs like the apostles who died for the faith.
