From the number of alterations and salditions constantly returned to this Office, it is necessary that the Register Bookt be posted every Week; it is therefore requested that Subscribers will be articular in sending their Books for that parpóse.

The Committee in Assigning to the existing Tonnage the number of Years for whicla Shijua shall stand in the first description of the First Class, have been influenced in every instance by an anxious desire to do justice to the Ship-Owner ; but should it appear on subsequent survey that any Vessel is entitled to a greater or less number of Years than has in the first instance been assigned to her, the Committee, in conformity with the Rules, reserve to themselves the power to make whatever alteration such future survey shall justify.

Parties discovering ady errors, are requested to cummunicate the same to the Secretary, that they may be taken notice of Accordingly.

It is particularly requested that Subscribers leaving town, will direct their Books to be sent to tbe Office, where they will be kept regularly posted.
