Thorough and painstaking research went into this book. While Chanel is revealed to have been employed by the Nazis, and her boyfriend von Dincklage discovered to have set up a spy network between Paris and Sanary-sur-Mer in 1930, author Hal Vaughan also pointed out her strengths and gifts which contributed so much to the change in women's fashions and the invention of Chanel N°5. Whether the reader likes this new factual information about Chanel or not, this book should be on everyone's list to read for its historical significance.
