"The present work on Backward Castes critically examined and analyzed history of reservation policies and programmes for backward castes from the beginning in different States, recommendations give by various committees, and commissions, etc. The book also focused on after effects on announcement of Mandal recommendations and development after Mandal Judgement (1992)." -- BOOK JACKET.

As other reviewer mentioned, the castes categorized as OBC are inaccurate. Kharuda caste has been included in this list and many of these caste people are from Solar Dynasty; the offspring of Lord Rama. These people are poor but do not belong to backward caste. This book might have been compiled from Government's data which has not been well researched. Perhaps, the researchers are from UPPER caste and classifying people in an innovative way in modern era.
