XV. Sanctified AFFLICTIONS. Deut. viii. 5. As a man chasteneth his son, so the LORD thy GOD chasteneth thee.

XVI. GRACE to the CHILDREN of BELIEVERS.
Gen. xvii. 7. I will establish my covenant between me and thee, and thy feed after thee, in their genera. tions for an everlasting covenant, to be a GOD unto thee, and to thy feed after thee.
Ver. 9. Thoạ shalt keep my covenant therefore ; thou, and thy feed after thee, in their generations.
Deut. xxx. 6. And the LORD thy GOD will cir. cumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy feed, to love the LORD thy GOD with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
Ifa. xliv. 3. I will pour my Spirit-upon thy feed and my blessing upon thy offspring,

XVII. Promises of an INTEREST in God.

to thee. Lev. xxvi. 12. And I will walk among you, and will be your GOD, and ye shall be my people.
Pf. xlviii. 14. This God is our God for ever and ever : he will be our guide, even unto death.
If. xli. 10. Fear thou not, for I am with thee : be not dismayed, for I am thy GOD.
Ezek. xxxiv. 24. I the LORD will be their God, and my fervant David a prince among them.
Ver. 31. Ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are. men, and I am your God, faith the LORD.
2 Cor. vi. 16. I will be their God, and they shall be my people..
