Prov. xiv. 14. A good man shall be Comfort. fatisfied from himself.

If. xii. 1. And in that day thou shalt fay, O LORD, I will praise thee : though thou waft angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.

I/. xlix. 13. GOD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

To appoint unto them that mourn in Sion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

15. lxvi. 11. That ye may fuck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her confolation, that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.

Ver. 13. As one whom his mother comforteth, fo will I comfort you : and ye shall be comforted in Jet rufalem.

Fer. vi. 16. Stand ye in the ways, and fee, and ask for the old paths, Where is the good way ? and walk therein ; and ye shall find rest for your souls.

John xiv. 18. I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you.

2 Cor. i. 3. Blessed be GOD, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the GOD of all comfort :

Ver. 4. Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them that are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of GOD.

2 Cor. vii. 6. GOD, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus.

2 Theff. ii. 16. Now our LORD Jesus Christ him. self, and GOD, even our Father, which hath loved


us, and hath given us 'everlasting confolation, and good hope through grace.

Heb. vi. 18. That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us.

Ver. 19. Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil.

Ps. xciv. 19. In the multitude of my thoughts within me, thy comforts delight my foul.

XXIII. DELIGHT and Joy in God. Neb. viii. 10. The joy of the LORD is your strength.

Job xxii. 26. Then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto GOD.

Pf. iv. 7. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

Pf. lxiii. 5. My soul shall be satisfied as with mar row and fatness, and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips.

Pf. lxiv. 10. The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him ; and all the upright shall glory.

PS. Ixviii. 3. Let the righteous be glad : let them rejoice before GOD; yea, let them exceedingly ree joice.

Pf. lxxxix. 15. Blessed is the people that know the. joyful found ; they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.

Ver. 16. In thy name shall they rejoice all the day, and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.

Pf. xcvii. 11. Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

Pf. cxviii. 15. The voice of rejoicing and falvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous.

Pf. cxxvi. 5. They that low in tears shall reap in joy.

Ver. 6. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious feed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Pl. xxxiii. 21. Our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

..Cant. i. 4. We will be glad, and rejoice in thee: we will remember thy love more than wine.

Ifa. ix. 3. They joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil. .IJ. xli. 2.6. Thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.

John xv. 11. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

Pf. xxxvii. 37. Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright ; for the end of that man is peace.

Pf. xlviii. 14. For this GOD is our GOD, for ever and ever : he will be our Guide, even unto death.

Pf. xlix. 15. GOD will redeem my soul from the power of the grave ; for he shall receive me.
