IX. To Wisdom and KNOWLEDGE, and the STUDY of it.

Prov. iii. 13. Happy is the To the Wife. man that findeth wisdom ; and the

man that getteth understanding. Ver. 14. For the merchandise of it is better than

the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

Ver. 15. She is more precious than rubies; and all the things thou canst desire, are not to be compared unto her.

Ver. 16. Length of days is in her right hand ; and in her left hand riches and honour.

Ver. 17. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

Ver. 18. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her ; and happy is every one that retaineth her.

Ver. 35. The wife shall inherit glory. · Prov. iv. 6. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee : Love her, and she shall keep thee.

Ver. 8. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee : She shall bring thee to honour, when thou doft embrace her.

Ver. 9. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace; a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

Prov. i. 5. A wise man will hear, and will increase learning ; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels :

Prov. viii. 35. Whoso findeth me [Wisdom] findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

Prov. X. 17. He is in the way of life, that keepeth instruction ; but he that refuseth reproof, erreth.

Prov. xii. 8. A man shall be commended according to his wisdom.

Prov. xiii. 15. Good understanding gives favour.

Prov. xv. 24. The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
