Prov. xix. 8. He that getteth wisdom, loveth his own foul : He that keepeth understanding, shall find good. .
Prov. xvi. 20. He that handleth a matter wisely, fall find good.
Ver. 22. Understanding is a well-spring of life to him that hath it.
Prov. xi. 29. The fool shall be servant to the wise in heart.
Prov. xxi. 20. There is a treasure to be desired, and oil in the dwelling of the wise. .
Prov. xxiv. 3. Through wisdom is an house builded, and by understanding it is established.

Prov. xxviii. 26. Whoso walketh wisely, shall be delivered.
Eccle. viii. 1. A man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.
Eccle. vii. 12. Wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence ; but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.
. Dan. ii. 21. He giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding.
Dan. xii. 3. They that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament.

2 Chron. i. 11. And GOD said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet halt thou asked long life ; but hast alked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king :

X. To a due REGARD to the WORD of God.
Prov. viii. 34. Blessed is the To Hearing and man that heareth me, watching Reading the Word.. daily at my gates, waiting at the
posts of my doors. If. ii. 3:. Come: ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the GOD of Jacob, and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.
If: lv. 2. Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. .
Ver. 3. Incline your ear, and come unto me; hear, and your soul shall live : And I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the fure mercies of David. , Ver. 10. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give, seed to the lower, and bread to the eater : .
Ver. 11. So shall my word be, that goeth forth out of my mouth : it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall : prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Ver. 22. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace.
John v. 39. Search the Scriptures, for in them ye think ye have eternal life ; and they are they which testify of me.
Mark iv. 14. Unto you that hear, shall more be given.
Ver. 25. For he that hath, to him shall be given : and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
Rom. i. 16. The gospel of Christ is the power of GOD unto salvation, to every one that believeth.

2 Pet. i. 19. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light shining in a dark place until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts.
Rev. i. 3. Blessed be he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein.

Ver. 8. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart ; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Ver. 11. Moreover, by them is thy servant warn. ed ; and in keeping of them there is great reward.
PS. cxix. 105. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. '.
Ver. 130. The entrance of thy words giveth light ; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
Prov. vi. 23. The commandment is a lamp, and the law is light, and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.
Pf. cxix. 165. Great peace have Loving the Word. they which love thy law, and
• nothing shall offend them. PS. cxii. I. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
