V. Promifes of PEACE, LOVE, and UNITY.

I. ii. 4. And they fhall beat their fwords into plow-fhares, and their fpears into pruning-hooks: nation fhall not lift up fword against nation, neither fhall they learn war any more.

Ifa. xi. 6. The wolf alfo fhall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard fhall lie down with the kid; and the calf, and the young lion, and the fatling together, and a little child fhall lead them.

Ver. 7. And the cow and the bear fhall feed; their young ones fhall lie down together; and the lion fhall eat ftraw like the ox.

Ver. 8. And the fucking child fhall play on the hole of the afp, and the weaned child fhall put his hand on the cockatrice den.

Ver. 9. They fhall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain.

Ver. 13. The envy also of Ephraim fhall depart, and the adverfaries of Judah fhall be cut off; Ephraim fhall not envy Judah, and Judah fhall not vex Ephraim.

Pf. lxxii. 3. The mountains fhall bring peace to the people, and the little hills by righteoufnefs.

Ver. 7. In his days fhall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace fo long as the moon endureth.

John xvii. 20. Neither pray I for thefe alone, but

Ver. 21. That they all may be one, as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee; that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe thou haft fent me.

Ver. 22. And the glory which thou gavest me, I have given them, that they may be one, even as we

Ver. 23. I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that thou haft fent me, and haft loved them, as thou haft loved me.

Eph. iv. 15. From whom [Chrift] the whole body fitly joined together, and compacted by that which every joint fupplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body, unto the edifying of itself in love.

vi. Promifes of the SUBMISSION and DESTRUCTION of the ENEMIES of the CHURCH.

Pf. cx. 2. The LORD fhall fend the rod of thy ftrength out of Zion; Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

Ver. 5. The LORD at thy right hand shall strike through kings, in the day of his wrath.

Ver. 6. He fhall judge among the heathen: he fhall fill the places with dead bodies; he fhall wound the heads over many countries.

I. xi. 4. He fhall fmite the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips fhall he flay the wicked.

If. xxvii. 1. In that day the LORD with his fore and great and ftrong fword fhall punish Leviathan, the piercing ferpent; even Leviathan, that

crooked ferpent: and he fhall flay the dragon that is in the fea.

If. xli. 11. Behold all they that were incenfed against thee, shall be ashamed and confounded: they fhall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee, fhall perish.

Ver. 12. Thou fhalt feek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee fhall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. See ver. 15, 16.

IS. xlix. 24. Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?

Ver. 25. But thus faith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty fhall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible fhall be delivered; for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will fave thy children.

Ver. 26. And I will feed them that opprefs thee with their own flesh, and they fhall be drunken with their own blood, as with fweet wine; and all flesh fhall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer the mighty One of Jacob.

If. lix. 19. When the enemy fhall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.

I. lx. 14. The fons alfo of them that afflicted thee, fhall come bending unto thee; and all they that defpifed thee, fhall bow themfelves down at the foles of thy feet; and they fhall call thee, The city of the LORD, the Zion of the Holy One of Ifrael.

2 Theff. ii. 8. Then fhall that wicked be revealed, whom the LORD fhall confume with the Spirit of his mouth, and destroy with the brightness of his coming. See Dan. vii. 24, 25, 26.

Rev. xiv. 9. If any man worship the beaft and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand;

Ver. 10. The fame fhall drink of the wine of the wrath of GOD, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation.

Rev. xvii. 1. Come hither, I will fhew thee the judgment of the great whore, that fitteth upon many waters, &c.

Ver. 16. And the ten horns which thou fawest upon the beast, these fhall hate the whore, and shall make her defolate and naked, and fhall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

Rev. xviii. 2. Babylon the Great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul fpirit, and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird. See to the end of the chap

Rev. xix. 19. And I faw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered together, to make war against him that fat on the horse, and against his army.

Ver. 20. And the beaft was taken, and with him the falfe prophet that wrought miracles before him, Iwith which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beaft, and them that worshipped his image thefe both were caft alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Rev. xx. 7. And when the thousand years are expired, Satan fhall be loofed out of prison.

Ver. 8. And fhall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle; the number of whom is as the fand of the fea.

Ver. 9. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compaffed the camp of the faints about, and the beloved city; and fire came down from GOD

out of heaven, and devoured them. See Ezek. xxxviii. and xxxix.

VII. Promifes of the FAVOUR and SUBMISSION of KINGS to the KINGDOM of CHRIST.

Ifa. xlix. 7. Thus faith the LORD, the Redeemer of Ifrael, and his Holy One, to him whom man defpifeth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a fervant of rulers, kings fhall fee and arife, princes alfo fhall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Ifrael, and he shall choose thee.

Ver. 23. And kings fhall be thy nurfing fathers, and their queens thy nurfing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face towards the earth, and lick up the duft of thy feet, and thou fhalt know that I am the LORD; for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.

Ifa. lii. 15. So fhall he sprinkle many nations; the kings fhall fhut their mouths at him; for that which had not been told them, shall they fee; and that which they had not heard, fhall they confider.

Ifa. Ix. 3. And the Gentiles fhall come to thy light, and kings to the brightnefs of thy rifing.

Ver. 10. And the fons of ftrangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings fhall minifter unto thee; for in my wrath I fmote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.

Ver. 11. Therefore thy gates fhall be open continually; they fhall not be fhut day nor night, that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.

Ver. 16. Thou fhalt fuck the milk of the Gentiles, and fhalt fuck the breaft of kings, and fhalt know, that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
