28 For Jesus is my constant friend
In every trying hour;

The guiltless he will succour send,
By his redeeming pow'r.

29 Our precious souls he brings to heav'n,
In happiness complete :
There no insults are ever giv'n,
Where holy spirits meet.

30 But perfect love o'er all presides
In regions pure as snow,

Where no adieus their love divides
Of those to Zion go.

31 There all is perfect happiness,

Where Christ his saints shall meet,
And dwell in perfect holiness,
With blessedness complete.

PSALM CX.

1 THE Lord unto my Lord did say,
Sit thou at my right hand,
My priest to rule supreme alway,
Triumphantly to stand.

2 To govern king on Zion's tow'r,
O'er enemies that be,

Quell'd by the sceptre of thy pow'r,
When they thy glory see.

3 In that happy glorious day
His beauty shall appear;
His sceptre nations shall obey,
Him heathens yet shall fear.
4 Jesus he is king for ever,

Thus God himself hath sworn:
Priest and king that faileth never,
All hail the day that he was born.
5 The glorious and mighty king,
Enthroned in ether bright,
Glad tidings he to us did bring,
From regions of eternal light.
6 Him tyrant princes shall obey,

His piercing word shall wound;
The heathen princes he will slay,
Dead shall their men be found.
7 The king of Zion will supply

His heirs with his rich grace;
Upon his pow'r they will rely
For an abiding place.

8 O! then the King of Glory praise,
He vict'ry does proclaim:
Immortal trophies to him raise,
To celebrate his name.

PSALM CXI.

1 HOSANNA to the Lord our God, Who reigns in heav'n, his high abode ; Praise God in his assembly,

Extol his name eternally.

2 Most glorious in holiness,
His wisdom is true happiness;
He dwells in etherial light,

There clothed in robes of dazzling white.

3 The universe his glory shows,

Most pure and holy are his laws;

His honourable works all claim

Most perfect praise to his great name.
4 Th' Architect of heav'n and earth,
To all creation he gave birth :
His attributes and matchless skill
Can alone these works all fulfil.
5 Gracious and merciful is God,
Compassion he does shed abroad;
His providence for all provides
Who close to him do still abide.
6 God's covenant stands ever sure,
And steadfast shall his word endure:
All that devoutly him do fear,
He ever them in mind does bear.

7 God's handiworks are done in truth, Upright the precepts of his mouth : Eternally he is upright,

And equity is his delight.

8 Immutable his truth endures,
And everlasting life ensures.
Holy God is, and rev'rent,`
Salvation unto us he sent.

9 Wisdom's beginning is to hear
The sacred word of God with fear.
Immortal joys await the just,

When from the grave God calls their dust. 10 With him to dwell in his bright court, Millions of angels there resort:

The heav'nly language all shall know
Who to the Saviour's presence go.

PSALM CXII.

1 THAT man is blest that fears the Lord, And loves his adored name;

Sweet praise unto his name afford,
Laud and praise his matchless fame.
Hallelujah!

Hallelujah! hal! Amen.

2 Delight to do the Lord's command, So blessed for ever be;

Let generations firmly stand,
And do honour unto thee.
Hallelujah!

Hallelujah! hal! Amen.

3 Devotion shines divinely bright
When to piety 'tis join'd:
Unspotted virtue is the light,
Sheds blessings o'er all mankind.
Hallelujah!

Hallelujah! hal! Amen!

4 When riches dwell with pious men,
And sweet charities abound,
Sure trust in the Redeemer's plan
In the Christian heart is found.
Hallelujah!

Hallelujah! hal! Amen.

5 Benevolence does ever flow

From the merciful inclined; The tender hearts compassion show To the poor of all mankind.

Hallelujah!

Hallelujah! hal! Amen.

6 The good man with discretion guides His whole family-affairs;

To some he lends, for some provides, All liberal bounty shares.

Hallelujah!

Hallelujah! hal! Amen.
