PREFACE.

THE Author of the suggestions contained in the following sheets, relies with confidence on the candour of the reader, for all reasonable indulgence in this his humble endeavour to render himself serviceable, as a friendly monitor to young articled Clerks in the profession of the Law. He solicits correction under errors; he feels how highly he may improve under just criticism; and he will receive it with gratitude but he must stand excused, if he should prove regardless of the censure of those men who reject a book as useless, without giving themselves the trouble to examine it, or to search into the motives.
