that if the faid W. K. fhall at any time or times during the faid term, neglect the business of his faid mafter, or by fickness or any other accident be hindered, prevented, or rendered incapable of performing the faid bufinefs of the faid R. F. in manner aforefaid; then he the faid W. K. fhall abate out of his faid wages weekly, in proportion for the time he shall neglect the faid bufinefs, or be fo hindred, or rendered incapable thereof as aforefaid. AND LASTLY, for the true performance of the covenants and agreements, herein before contained on the part and behalf of the faid parties, to be feverally done and performed, each of them bindeth himself, his heirs, executors and adminiftrators, unto the other of them, his executors and adminiftrators, in the penal fum of pounds, of lawful money of Great Britain, firmly by thefe prefents. ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT, indented, made, concluded and agreed upon this day of 1773, between W. F. of, &c. of the one part, and H. D. of, &c. of the other part, as follows:

IMPRIMIS, The faid H. D. of his own free will and accord, for the confiderations herein after mentioned, doth hereby bind himself unto the faid W. F. with him the faid W. F. to dwell, ferve and abide, after the manner of a fervant, to do and perform all matters and things relating to the employment or bufinefs of a Hawker, Pedlar, or Petty Chapman, from the day of the date hereof, for, during, and unto the full end and term of three years from thence next enfuing fully to be compleat and ended.

AND the faid H. D. doth hereby covenant and agree, that he the faid H. D. during the faid term, his faid mafter will well and faithfully his fecrets keep, his lawful commands at all times willingly obey, that he will not do any hurt or damage to his faid mafter, or his goods, nor purloin, or otherwife wafte the goods of his faid mafter; at cards, dice, or any other unlawful game he fhall not play; taverns, inns, or alehoufes he fhall not frequent, unless about his faid mafter's bufinefs, nor abfent himself day or night from his faid mafter's fervice, but shall at all times be ready and willing to give his faid mafter a true and faithful account of his proceedings, make due and true returns to his faid mafter of all goods or monies that fhall come to his hands, and in all things behave himself as an honeft and faithful fervant during the faid term.

AND the faid W. F. doth covenant and agree, to teach and inftruct the faid H. D. in the art or mystery of a Hawker, PedJar, or Petty Chapman, which he now ufeth, according to the best ways and means he can, and that he will, during the faid term of three years, find and provide for his faid fervant, meat, drink, wafhing, lodging, and all other neceffaries except cloathing, fit and convenient for fuch a fervant to have; and that in cafe the faid H. D. fhall faithfully

ferve his faid mafter, according to the tenor and effect of this agreement, that then the faid W. F. shall and will, at the expiration of the faid three years, truft the faid H. D. with goods or wares, to the value of 40% as a ftock for him the faid H. D. to trade upon on his own account. In witness, &c.

MPRIMIS, The faid R. W for the confiderations herein aftermentioned, doth hereby for himself, his executors, and adminiftrators, covenant, promife, and agree, to and with the faid S. S. his executors and adminiftrators, in manner following, viz. that he the faid R. W. will be with, continue, and well, truly, diligently, and faithfully, to the beft of his skill, judgment, and capacity, ferve him the faid S. S. and no other perfon or perfons whomsoever, as a covenanted fervant, in the capacity of a foreman, manager, or fuperintendant in the trade or bufinefs of a Broker, in buying or felling of household goods and furniture by hand, now carried on and followed by him the faid S. S. at his house or warehouse in aforefaid,

for and during the term of — years, to be computed from the day of the date of thefe prefents, determinable nevertheless at the end of the first or second year of the said term of years, in manner herein after-mentioned. AND ALSO fhall do and perform during the faid term (determinable as aforefaid) all and every at, deed, and thing, relating to the faid trade or bufinefs in the best manner he is able, and alfo fhall, during the faid term, inftruct the apprentice or apprentices of the faid S. S. in the faid trade or business of a Broker in felling by hand; AND ALSO shall day by day, during the faid term, continue with, and work, follow, or attend the faid trade or bufinefs of a broker, for the faid S. S. during the hours, times, and feafons that are cuftomary and ufual in the faid trade; AND ALSO that he the faid R. W. fhall not, nor will at any time during the faid term commit, or be guilty of any fraud or embezzlement of the monies, goods, wares, or merchandizes of the faid S. S. or for which he shall or may be accountable, or wherewith he the faid R. W. fhall be entrusted by him the faid S. S. AND ALSO fhall not, during the faid term, (determinable as aforefaid) carry on, or caufe, or procure to be carried on the faid trade or bufinefs of a Broker, in the buying or felling of goods and furniture by hand on his own account; AND FURTHER, That he faid R. W. fhall and will, during the faid term, find and provide for himself (at his own proper cofts and charges) apparel, lodging, washing, phyfic, and all other neceffaries whatfoever; AND the faid S. S. doth hereby for himfelf, his executors, and adminiftrators,

miniftrators, covenant, promife, and agree, unto and with the faid R. W. his executors and adminiftrators, by thefe prefents, that he the faid S. S. fhall and will, during the faid term (determinable as aforefaid) well and truly pay, or caufe to be paid unto the faid R. IV. (as a confideration for fuch fervices to be done and performed by him as aforesaid, during the continuance of this article) the fum ofper annum, to be paid to the faid K. IV. weekly, and every week, on every Saturday night thereof during the faid term; the firf payment thereof to begin and be made on the first Saturday night next following the date of thefe prefents.. PROVIDED ALWAYS and it is hereby further agreed by and between the faid partics to thefe prefents, that if the faid R. W. fhall at any time or times, during the faid term, neglect the bufinefs of the faid S. S. or by ficknefs or any other accident, be hindered, prevented, or rendered incapable of performing the faid bufinefs in manner aforefaid, then he the faid R. W. fhall abate out of his faid wages weekly in proportion for the time he fhall neglect the fame, or be fo hindered or rendered incapable thereof as aforefaid; AND it is further agreed by and between the faid parties to thefe prefents, that if either of them fhall be defirous to determine and make void this article, and the covenants therein-contained, at the end of the first or second year of the faid term of years, they fhail give calendar months notice to each other of fuch their intention, immediately after the end or determination of the first or fecond year of the said term of years, from which time or notice, these prefents, and every thing therein contained, fhall ceafe, determine, and become abfolutely void. AND LASTLY, for the true performance of all and every the covenants and agreements herein beforecontained on the part and behalf of the faid parties to these prefents to be feverally done and performed, each of them bindeth himself, his executors, and adminiftrators, unto the other of them, his and their executors and adminiftrators, in the penal fum of - pounds, of lawful money, &c. firmly by these prefents. To an attorney for five years.

ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT, indented, &c. between A, B. of, &c. Gent. of the one part, and J. K. of, &c. gent. of the other part, viz.

HEREAS the faid A. B. hath agreed with the faid 7. K. to put himself as a clerk to him for the term of five years, from the day of the date of thefe prefents, NOW in purfuance of the faid agreement, the faid A. B. hath, and by these presents doth, put and place himself to and with the faid 7, K. his mafter, and with him to ferve as his articled clerk, for the term or space of five years, from the day of the date hereof, during all which term he the said A. B,

as fuch fhall faithfully and diligently ferve him the faid 7. K. his fecrets keep, and his lawful and rightful commands obey and perform, and fhall not depart or absent himself from the fervice of his faid mafter, without his leave, during the faid term, nor unduly or negligently fpend or wafte any of his faid mafter's money, goods, or chattels, or the monies, goods, or chattels of any other person or perfons, which fhall be in the cuftody of, or intrufted with him. by his faid mafter, or that shall be delivered or put into the hands of the faid A. B. or come to his hands by his faid mafter's order or appointment, or in any other manner whatfoever, on his account, during the faid term, but shall and will, from time to time, during, the faid term well and truly account for, deliver, and pay over to his faid mafter, his executors, adminiftrators, or affigns, all and every fuch fum or fums of money, ftamps, deeds, writings, and other things, which he the faid A. B. shall receive, have, or take, of, or for, or be intrufted with, for, or on account of his faid master; AND ALSO fhall, in all things, demean and behave himself in all respects towards his faid master, as a good, true, and faithful clerk during all the faid term; AND the faid 7. K. in confideration of the true and faithful fervice fo to be done and performed by the faid A. B. and that he the faid A. B. do and hall find and provide for himself all kind of neceffaries during the faid term, in fuch manner as herein-after is mentioned; and of the performance of the covenants and agreements herein-after fpecified, according to the true intent and meaning of these prefents, DOTH covenant, promife, and agree, to and with the faid A. B. by thefe prefents, in manner following, viz. that he the faid J. K. fhall and will, from time to time, and at all times, during the faid term of five years, in the best manner he can, or is able, well and fufficiently inftruct, teach, and inform, the faid A. B. as his clerk, in the bufinefs and practice of an attorney, in his Majefty's courts of K. B. and C. B. and alfo as a folicitor in the courts of Chancery, Exchequer, and all other courts which he the faid 7. K. now uses, or fhall use and practise in during the faid term, and in all the manner, method, and reasons of doing the fame; AND that at the end and expiration of the faid term of five years, or whenever afterwards the faid A. B. fhall apply and requeft of him the faid 7. K. he shall, and will (at the proper ceft and charge of the faid A. B.) ufe his best endeavours to procure him the faid A. B. to be admitted an attorney in the faid court of —, and as a folicitor in the High Court of Chancery; AND the faid A. B. doth hereby covenant, promife, and agree, to and with the faid 7. K. that he the faid A. B. during all the faid term of five years clerkship, fhall and will, at his own charge, find and provide himself with meat, drink, washing, lodging, and all other neceffaries; and that he the faid 7. K. fhall at all times be, and is hereby abfolutely freed and discharged therefrom; AND ALSO that the faid A. B. fhall and will, within the time appointed by act of parliament, pay to his Majefty's revenue of the ftamp duties, the tax or duties impofed upon monies, or other confiderations given with clerks and apprentices, and indemnify and

fave harmless the faid 7. K. his executors, adminiftrators, and affigns, of and from the fame duties in every refpect. In witnefs, &c.

ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT, indented, made, and agreed upon, this day of, &c. between T. S. undertaker, J. IV. tobacconist, and W. W. goldsmith, church-wardens of the parish of- -, in the liberty of the city of London, W. H. leatherfeller, T. S. glazier, W. G. hair-merchant, and J. P. plaifterer, overfeers of the poor of the parifh aforefaid, of the one part; and D. F. of, &c. of the other part:

AND ALSO good and fufficient victuals and drink on every day in the week, at the times, and in the quantities and proportions in the following bill of fare contained, viz. SUNDAY morning, four ounces of bread, and a pint of beer; FOR dinner, four ounces of bread, feven ounces of mutton, with a pint of broth, and a pint of beer; FOR SUPPER, four ounces of bread, with two ounces of cheefe, or one of butter, and a pint of beer; FOR MONDAY morning, four ounces of bread, and a pint of broth; FOR DINNER, fix ounces of bread, and three ounces of cheese, or two ounces of butter, and a pint of beer; FOR SUPPER, four ounces of bread, with two ounces of cheefe, or one ounce of butter; FOR TUES.
