History and Myth in Romanian ConsciousnessBoia closely examines the process of historical culture and conscience in nineteenth and twentieth century Romania, particularly concentrating on the impact of the national ideology on history. Based upon his findings, the author identifies several key mythical configurations and analyses the manner in which Romanians have reconstituted their own highly ideologized history over the last two centuries. |

I will give it 5-stars for the attempt ! For sociological and psychological reasons, history in Romania takes the role of mother, father, extended family! God forbid if anyone is proposing any alternative view, no matter the quality of the argument, by which it might "demolish" the soothing perception of Romanian history.
