HYMN CXXIII. CXXIV. CXXV. B. II.
2 Jehovah's awful voice is beard,
Yet gladly I attend;
friend. 3 Harmonious accents to my soul,
The sounds of peace convey, ;
And winds, and seas obey.
To grieve his love no more;
HYMN 123. L. M.
Commencement of Public Worship.
Prepare us to receive thy word;
And faith be mixt with what we hear. 2 Distracting thoughts and cares remove,
And fix our hearts and hopes above;
And satisfied with living bread. 3 To us thy sacred word apply,
With sov’reign pow'r and energy ; ;
HYMN 124. P. M. 8, 7,4.
At the close of worship.
Oh, refresh us!
For thy Gospel's joyful sound;
May thy presence
Us from earth to call away; Borne on angels' wings to heav'n, Glad to leave our cumb'rous clay,
May we, ready, Rise and reign in endless day! the HYMN 125. L. M.
Social Worship. 1 " THERE two or three with sweet accord,
Meet to recount his acts of
Amid this little company;
And shed my glories round the place.” 3 We meet at thy command, dear Lord,
Relying on thy faithful word;
HYMN 126, 8s.
Our God forever.
And neither knows measure nor end; 2 'Tis Jesus, the first and the last,
Whose spirit shall guide us safe home, We'll praise him for all that is past,
And trust him for all that's to come.
Declension of Religion lamented.
Happy seasons we have seen ! 2 But a drought has since succeeded,
And a sad decline we see ; Lord, thy help, is greatly needed,
Help can only come from thee. 3 Some, in whom we once delighted,
We shall meet no more below ; Some, alas! we fear are blighted,
Scarce a single leaf they show. 4 Dearest Saviour, hasten hither,
Thou canst make them bloom again;
Prayer for a Revival,
: All will come to desolation,
Unless thou return again,
!! HYMN CXXIX. CXXX.
Lord, revive us ;
All our help must come from thee. 2 Keep no longer at a distance;
Shine upon us from on high,
Every plant should droop and die. 3 Let our mutual love be fervent,
Make us prevalent in pray’rs ;
Shun the world's bewitching snares. 4 Break the tempter's fatal power :
Turn the stony heart to flesh;
HYMN 129, L. M.
Hoping for a revival.
To see the work of God decline,
“ Dismiss thy fears, the ark is mine. 2 “ Tho’ for a time I bid my face,
Rely upon my love and pow'r:
And wait for a reviving hour.
I've seen thy tears and heard thy pray'r,
But spring shall all its wastes repair.' 4 Lord, I obey,--my hopes revive ;
Come, join with me, ye saints, and sing ;
HYMN 130. P. M. 8,7.
The Lord's Vineyard.
Let thy people's pray’r be granted
Keep it safe from hostile boasts ;
Keep thy vineyard night and day.
Let them thrive beneath thy hand;
Blooming fair at thy command;
Laden with a faithful store.
Plant the barren waste around;
Let thy work be thus completed,
And no fruitless spot be found; Let the earth a vineyard be, Consecrated, Lord, to thee,
HYMN 131. P. M. 8, 7.4.
The triumphs of the Gospel.
When he chooses,
Darkness flies at his command. 2 Let us hail the joyful season ;
Let us hail the dawning ray.
At his presence
Gloom and darkness flee away.
While he enters like a flood ;
Soon shall tell the love of God. 4 God of Jacob, high and glorious,
Let thy people see thy hand;
Thro' the world in ev'ry land :
And the idols
Joy of heav'n, to earth come down!
All thy faithful mercies crown.
Pure, unbounded love, thou art!
Enter ev'ry trembling heart.
Into ev'ry troubled breast !
Let us find thy promis'd rest.
Alpha and Omega be;
Set our hearts at liberty.
68 HYMN CXXXII. CXXXIV. B. II. 3 Come, Almighty to deliver,
Let us all thy life receive!
Never more thy temples leave!
Serve thee as thy hosts above;
Glory in thy precious love.
Pure, unspotted may we be ;
Perfectly secur'd by thee:
Till in heav'n we take our place ;
HYMN 133. P. M. 8, 7.
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Sung by flaming tongues above ;
Mount of God's unchanging love. 2 Here I raise my Eben-Ezer,
Hither by thy help I'm come ;
Safely to arrive at home.
Wand'ring from the fold of God;
Interpos’d with precious blood. 3 Oh! to grace how great a debtor,
Daily I'm constrain'd to be!
Bind my wand'ring heart to thee :
Prone to leave the God I love-
Seal it from thy courts above.
