When ten-year-old Bella Burgemeister heard about the United Nations? 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development, she knew that she wanted to do something. She had an idea. She thought long and hard, and created a plan. Bella's Challenge began with that idea. As the project developed, Bella's learning curve was very steep. She experienced almost as many ?oh -no? moments as ?aha? moments in the creation of this book. Bella learned about the process of writing, illustrating and editing a book. She learned about layout and design and about some of the software. She learned about working with printers and standing up for herself and her for her project. She learned about speaking in public arenas, pitching for funding and, she learned about print publication. Fortunately, the support and encouragement that Bella experienced from family and friends was extraordinary and in ten months she had done what she had set out to do ? she had created this book. So now, with all the hard work done, Bella's Challenge is ready for sharing. Are you up for Bella's challenge? How will you help to make a difference?
