About the author (2003)

Jana Evans Braziel is Assistant Professor of English at theUniversity of Wisconsin, La Crosse. In 2002–3 she was FiveCollege Fellow and Visiting Assistant Professor of English atAmherst College. She has written widely on diaspora and culturalstudies, and is the editor of Bodies Out of Bounds: Fatness andTransgression (with Kathleen LeBesco, 2001).

Anita Mannur is a postdoctoral fellow in Asian AmericanStudies at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
