The year wanes fast; "'tis but an hour ago since it was nine, and after
an hour more 'twill be eleven." Ere midnight sound, and warn us to
do homage to Time's anniversary ceremonial, we will pass, perchance,
no unprofitable space, brief as it must be, with the guest already standing
