Called to Witness and Service: Conversations Between The British and Irish Anglican Churches and The French Lutheran and Reformed Churches, the Reuilly Common Statement with Essays on Church, Eucharist and MinistryThe historic Meissen Agreement between the Church of England and the Evangelical Church in Germany encouraged the French Protestant Churches to seek closer fellowship with the Anglican Churches across the channel. The result is a proposed agreement, following the pattern of Meissen and Fetter Lane (between the Church of England and the Moravian Church), in which the Churches acknowledge one another and commit themselves to closer fellowship and co-operation on the way to fuller visible unity. The report also contains historical profiles of the participating Churches and important essays on their respective understandings of the Eucharist and Ministry. |
