Will you help

DR. BARNARDO'S HOMES

Will you send us 2/6

The usual Annual Appeal is made for

100,000 Half-Crowns

to help to pay the Food Bill for our great family of over 7,000 children
during the coming lean months.

The cost of food is constantly increasing.

Last year we raised 167,163 Half-Crowns in memory of the late Dr.
Barnardo.

Will you please help us to do the same this year, because the need is
greater?

4,334 children admitted since War broke out, many being the children
of soldiers and sailors.

Nearly 10,000 Barnardo boys are fighting for the Empire. More than
half of these are in the Overseas contingents.

Yours faithfully in the service of the Children,

WILLIAM BAKER, Honorary Director.

Cheques and Orders payable" Dr. Barnardo's Homes Food Bill Fund," and crossed (Notes should be Registered),
and addressed to the Honorary Director, William Baker, M.A., LL.B., at

The Y.M.C.A. Ladies' Auxiliary Committee, of which H.H. Princess Helena Victoria is President, and The Countess of Bessborough, Hon. Secretary, are doing a most valuable work amongst the Base Camps in France.

Since the commencement of the War, they have sent out over 820 ladies, who have given their services voluntarily, to assist in the Huts by serving refreshments, etc., organizing games among the men, helping with their letters, and giving them sympathy and encouragement. The work the Y.M.C.A. ladies are doing also in the Hostels for the relatives of the wounded is of the greatest value, and calls for much sympathy and support.

of the moment is for funds and gifts in kind,

The Pressing Need such as games (indoor and outdoor), gramo

phones, gramophone records, and musical instruments. Such gifts should be addressed to H.H. Princess Helena Victoria, Y.M.C.A., 74 South Audley Street, London, W., and marked 'Base Camps Fund.' All contributions will be gratefully received by the Auxiliary Committee, 74 South Audley Street, London, W.I
