Although the subject matter is a difficult one to swallow as a child born into a generation which has not suffered much, it is necessary. The author gives his raw account of a most difficult time and place to be alive in. These events need to be told and retold because its horrors are very real. Knowledge of our past properly empowers us to protect our future.

This was a really interesting and devastatingly sad account of a physician who worked closely with Dr. Mengele in Auschwitz. He was forced to do terrible things there, but was also able to help save his wife and daughter (and himself) because of his circumstances. Read full review
