What a towering figure among Kenya's industrialists. I had the good fortune to meet him in the mid eighties. Impressive, foresighted and humble man despite his achievements. His counsel was generous, practical and ethical. In his late sixties, Mr. Manji exuded energy, courage and confidence with humility.
He proved the fact that practical application of ideas was just as useful as a formal education. In his wisdom, he hired workers that had to have the technical knowledge. He obviously attracted friendships of other business giants of all races in times of need and I have no doubt he reciprocated well.
What he lacked in formal education, he seems to have made up through curiosity, search and pursuit. I have no doubt he has many followers who were, are inspired by him. May you rest in peace. HC.
