EVERY-DAY religion is the only true religion. That which is put off and on, as occasion may either serve or require, like the Mahometan's slippers, is no religion at all. When men leave it outside their countinghouse, or at the door of their shop, or in the lobby of a certain great House; when it does not sit with them at their desk, stand with them behind their counter, follow them through the lobby into "the House;" while it may serve some purposes of time, it will be utterly worthless for eternity.
