Zoroastrianism: An Introduction to an Ancient Faith

Front Cover
Sussex Academic Press, 1998 - Religion - 204 pages
Clark (religion, Cardiff U., Wales) insists on treating Zoroastrianism as a legitimate, living contemporary religion, rather than approaching it from the common, Western-biased viewpoint of being interested in it chiefly for its historical influences on the development of Judaism and Christianity. Clark discusses the historicity of the prophet Zarathushtra; identifies the deities and tenets of the faith; describes worship, rituals, and other observances; investigates its ethical constructs; and offers a view of Zoroastrianism today.
