Prohibited Articles: Fine-cut tobacco in quantities weighing 50 grammes (1 oz.) or more; packets of cigarettes weighing more than 30 grammes (1 oz.), and loose cigarettes exceeding 25 in number. Insured Box Service: postage 18. 5d., Customs Declara. tions 2; see page 67. Correspondence for German East Africa, except Baga. moyo and Lindi, is forwarded by German Packet, unless otherwise addressed. Correspondence for Bagamoyo and Lindi is sent via Brindisi unless otherwise addressed, and is despatched to Aden by British Packet every Friday, to be forwarded thence as opportunity offers.
The insurance system applies to letters for Bagamoyo, Dar-es-salaam, Kilwa, Lindi, Mikindani, Mohorro, Pangani, Saadani, and Tanga only.
The Gilbert Islands are not in the Postal Union; and the registration system does not extend to those islands.
Prohibited Articles': Coln, gold, silver, precious stones, jewellery, &c. Packets of pictorial cards are pro- hibited from transmission as printed matter.
