I think this is a good work to examine in conjunction with Getting Things Done: GTD has been great for helping me stay on track of daily tasks and commitments, but not so much with things that are important to me but not urgent. The central thesis of this book is that time management is really energy management. It doesn't matter if you have time to do what's important if you can't muster the physical, emotional, and mental energy you need to do it. The book advocates building routines that maintain a healthy balance between activity and rest, and stresses the importance of knowing your most important values as motivation. I realized on reading that I already have a number of routines like this in place, and now I'm trying to gradually build on to them to better manage my energy
