I do believe that there is much twisting of the Scripture going on today, however, much of the twisting is not going on in the mind as much as the mind has been trained by previous generations as we have wondered from the truth (version after version, depending on what so-called scholars or associational/denominational consesus is. Much of what is coming out is the man authored beliefs, not DOCTRINE,that has been taught by our so-called Bible colleges. Zondervan is at the forefront of false teaching and alll for profit. Many other supposed Christian publishers have many fountains springing out from their presses, both secular (even pornagraphic) and religious (not necessarily Christian).
One thing that I would like to address in your writing, was your statement about Jesus crying over Lasarus' death in John 11:35, of which I feel is a complete misinterpretation. He was not crying because Lasarus died but that His followers were lacking the faith. He was telling Mary and Martha that He was the resurrection. Why would He not believe in what He was saying? It was much the same as when He looked upon Jerusalem and was moved with compassion, because the people had nobody to lead them in the ways of righteousness. There is one thing that I have learned since become committed to knowing Him and making Him known, God said what He meant and meant what He said. We need to teach people how to think not what to think, the Holy Spirit will do that. Don't change a comma, or exclamation point. Teach that a person must look to God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, then He shall be found (Jeremiah 29:13).
