Now therefore, we the undersigned Commissioners of said Town, having met at the House of Albert Hutchinson in said Town, for the purpose of causing said Road to be ascertained, described and entered of record in the Town Clerk's Office, All the said Commissioners having been duly notified to attend this meeting for the purpose of deliberating on the subject embraced in this order, do hereby order that said road be ascertained described and entered of record, And we the said Commissioners having a copy of a survey made March 21st 1873 by Justus Roe, and a release for all claims to damages by reason of the opening of said Road in accordance with said survey signed by Thomas R. Terry, Daniel R. Terry, William Davis, Joseph Rowland, Schryver & Edwards, C. F. Sturtevant, Addison Hulse and Samuel J. Terry which release Accompanies this order, and after a careful examination of said Road & Survey do hereby order said road to be hereby ascertained and described according to said survey, being as follows,

Beginning at a point on the old Town Road at intersection of lands of Azariah Hawkins Smith & John J. Davis as near as could be ascertained to be the centre of said road 33 ft. N. from a Ditch on the land of Nelson Norton and ran First course N. 3° 30′ E-3756 ft to a stone opposite a locust post at intersection of lands of Thomas R. and Daniel R. Terry and 123 ft N. Westerly from the N. W. corner of the House of Daniel R. Terry; this line 1161 ft from starting point passing 6 ft E of a Cedar Tree on the land of A. H. Smith; at 2222 ft passing the centre of half mile road; at 2391 ft 120 ft E from the N. E. corner & in range with N. end of House of William Davis; at 2397 ft 76 ft W. from N. W. corner and in range with N. end of House of James Daly; at 2701 ft. 9 ft E. of fence post of A H. Smith; at 3033 ft 88 ft W. of N. W.

corner and in range with N. end of House of Joseph Rowland and at this point 4 ft E. of the fence of A. H. Smith ; at 3383 ft 22 ft. E. of a marked Oak Tree at intersection of lands of A. H. Smith and Thomas R Terry and at 3658 ft 73.6 W. of N. W. corner of House of Daniel R. Terry

Second course N. 3° 45′ E-6565 ft to a point 7 ft from the fence of Havens Jones; this line about 160 ft from starting point passing 624 ft E from the N. E. corner and in range with N. side of the House of Thomas R. Terry and at this point 15 ft W. of the fence on the opposite side of the street; at 773 ft was 65 ft W. of the N. W. corner and in range with N. end of House of Charles F. Sturdevant; at 1090 ft was 69 ft from the N. W. corner and in range with N. end of House of Samuel J. Terry; at 2726 ft 20 ft from the corner post on fence intersecting lands of Daniel Skidmore & Schryver & Edwards; at 5233 ft 26 ft E of fence of Havens Jones and 13 ft W of fence intersecting lands of John J. Davis & Joseph Hegerman; at 5643 ft. 20.6 E of the

fence of Havens Jones and 8.6 W. of fence of Joseph Hegeman adjoining land of Anson Smith; at 6040 ft was 14 ft from fence of Havens Jones and if continued 25 ft from Terminus would reach the fence of Havens Jones which at this point runs 13 ft at right angles with the balance of the fence

Third course varying 74° on N 77° 45′ E-587 ft to a point as near as could be ascertained to be the W. side of road to Coram and 25 ft. S of the fence of Leander Smith. commenced then at a point on the first course mentioned above and ran out half mile road N. 86° 30′ W. 582 to a point 25 ft S of a post on the cleared lot of A. Hawkins Smith, thence to continue in a S. Westerly direction about 1150 ft to the Old Town Road near Piping Tree Lot.

And it is further ordered that said lines above described be the center line of said roads, of the width of three rods and that they be included in Road District No. 7. of Port Jefferson; In Witness whereof, we the said Commissioners have hereunto subscribed our Names this Third day of June 1874.

Order ascertaining & describing Shore Road, E. Setauket -

Whereas a Road, used as a highway, in the Village of Setauket, Town of Brookhaven & County of Suffolk known as the Shore Road was laid out many years ago and again by commissioners by record dated Oct 10th 1865 but not sufficiently described

Now therefore we the undersigned Commissioners of said Town on application of F. A. Darling, having met on the premises near the residence of Elizabeth Hawkins in said Town, for the purpose of causing said road to be ascertained, described and entered of record in the Town Clerk's office, All the said Commissioners having been duly notified to attend this meeting for the purpose of deliberating on the subject embraced in this order, do hereby order said road to be ascertained, described and entered of record-And we the said Commissioners having caused a survey of the said road to be made do further order that the said road is hereby ascertained and described according to the said survey, being as follows; Beginning at a point as near as could be ascertained to be the center of said Road 14.6 ft N of a stone wall opposite intersection of lands of George Hand and David Baylis & ran First course

S 33° 30′ W. 214 ft to a point 20.4 ft S of S. W. corner and in range with W. side of shed of Win. Bacon and 23 ft N. of fence of Wm. Bacon near Joseph Rulands ship yard ; this line 106 ft from starting pt passing 21.6 N. of fence of David Bayles adjoining ship yard of Wm. Bacon.

Second course varying 14° 50 N. or S 48° 20' W—352 ft to a point 13.4 ft N of the stone wall of Joshua Bunce near the Ship yard of Nehemiah Hand; this line 163 ft from starting point passing 19 ft N of the E. end of the stone wall of Joshua Bunce

Third course varying 7° 43 N or S 56° 03′ W-290 ft to a point 16.6 ft N. of the fence post at

intersection of lands of George Hawkins and Algernon Mills.

Fourth course varying 25° 41' S 30° 22′ W-212 ft to a point 7 ft S. Easterly from the face of a stone wall- Fifth course varying 44° 32′ E or S 14° 10' E-154 ft Sixth course varying 10° 24′ E or S 24° 34′ E 219 ft to a point 10 ft W of the corner of a shed and 29 W of N. W corner and in range with N. side of Barn of Theodore B. Hawkins.

Seventh course varying 11° 36′ E or S. 36° 10′ E-58.6 ft to a pt 19 ft E. of the N. E. corner and in range with N end of House of Shepard Jones

Eight course varying 2° 25′ W. or S 33° 45' E.--160 ft to a point 18.6 ft from the corner of a fence & in range with it belonging to Carlton Jayne; this line 108 ft from starting point passing 20 ft from the fence & 45.9 from the S. W. corner & range with S end of Kitchen part of House of Mrs Elizabeth Hawkins.

And we do further order that the line as above described, being the exact route as near as could be ascertained of the Survey made Oct 10th 1865-be the center line of said road, and that the said road be of the width of two rods

Old Highway West from Cumsawogue lessened a piece---

Whereas a road used as a highway in the Town of Brookhaven in the county of Suffolk leading from Main St. in the Village of Cumsewogue near Port Jefferson Westerly towards Setauket being an Old road laid out in 1728 as the Upper road from Setauket to Old Mans now generally known as the Sheep Pasture Road, was again laid out by Commissioners of Highways by an order dated August 17th, 1868, and declared as a four rod road, and

Whereas said road has been encroached on by the Long Island R. R. and other encroachments also existing which have never been removed and Whereas a petition signed by R. W. Wheeler, Hubbard Gildersleeve, Samuel Lemmon, C. L. Bayles, Joseph S. Hawkins, Minor Tuthill, T. D. Haight, Daniel V. Griffin A. H. Hutchinson, E. B. Darling and others owning land & interested in said Road was presented to the Commissioners of Highways asking that said Road be defined as three Rod Road and all the encroachments be removed.

Now therefore we the undersigned Commissioners of said Town having met at the House of Minor Tuthill in said Town, for the purpose of considering said petition which accompanies this order, and of causing said Road to be ascertained, described and entered of record in the Town Clerk's office, all the Commissioners having been
