Front Cover
Washington Talking book and Braille Library (USA), 2013
In 1940, Varian Fry, with only three thousand dollars and a list of names, went on a secret mission to Marseilles, to help those who had fled Nazi Germany and were now trapped in southern France. The list he took included most of the premier writers, painters, and scientists of Europe. Only in the past decade has the world begun to honor Fry for his accomplishments.
