So, I heard great things about this one from friends and family. It started out well, was wonderfully-paced, but somewhere along the way something went wrong for me. I really did not understand Theo's ... Read full review

More annoying than the book itself were the accolades plastered over the cover - “brilliant”, “The perfect thriller,” “smart, sophisticated suspense.” No. Very easy to read, with chapters of 3-4 pages ... Read full review

Rating: 1.5* of five I received a DRC from the publisher via NetGalley. I don't owe them (or the author) a review, but as this might actually be nominated for a Goodreads Choice award, I wanted to get ... Read full review

Clearly the people writing 5 star reviews of this book have never read actual “thrillers”. I had high hopes for this book, but I almost returned it without even finishing it because it was just boring. There is a huge lack of direction, and the characters are very predictable. Overall, this is a book that II might have enjoyed as a teenager, but as an adult, it was completely lacking. .
